Question 1: Why was the Panic Room created?

Need is the mother of invention. We live in dangerous times. War rages in the Middle East, computer attacks abound, and data theft runs rampant.

Our troops need encryption, or government needs encryption, and companies need encryption. Failure to secure your data can be a crime.

Here are some recent data losses (chart) that would have been prevented by the Panic Room.

Question 2. What were the main goals of the Panic Room Family of products?

There were two goals. First, to create an encryption system that could not be broken. The Panic Room uses the strongest known encryption algorithms, with techniques that separate the Panic Room from any would be competitors. These techniques are classified.

The second goal was to make the encryption easy to use. If it is not easy, it will not be used. There is no need to create vaults, or to hide your data with tricks. With the Panic Room Family of products there is no need to setup anything. You simply identify the files you want to encrypt and press a button. Decryption is just as easy.

We have put in all the easy to use tools you would expect from a MS Windows tool. Drag and drop, push button ease... even a cave man could use the Panic Room.

Question 3. Aren't there other ways to protect your data?

Sure, you could use MS Windows built in encryption, but that does not give you both the flexibility, and added security of the Panic Room. With the MS Windows way of encryption your password is available to anyone that can hack your computer. This is not a real option at all.

There are other options, and none of them have the ease of use, combined with the features and hardened encryption of the Panic Room Family of products.

Question 4. Isn't it illegal to use encryption this strong on my corporate or personal data?

Not at all. It is legal for an individual to encrypt anything they want. The only thing that one must always be aware of in regard to encryption and that is that criminal activity is a crime. If you commit a crime, and use the Panic Room to help you do this, your punishment will be adversely modified as if you had used a gun in the commission of a crime. It is not just your right to encrypt your data, if you store information for your company, financial information, personnel information, or government information, it becomes your responsibility!

Question 5. Can I try out the Panic Room before buying it?

My Panic Room X, and Panic Room USB can be downloaded and used for 30 days for free. The Panic Room Fortress is too strong to be available for down load.
